On behalf of the Cheshire East Initiative Delivering Differently in Macclesfield we would like to invite you to attend free 1 day Mental Health Awareness and Response Workshop.
Work-related mental ill health costs UK employers up to £26 billion every year through lost working days, staff turnover and lower productivity. On average, employees take 7 days off work a year for health reasons and it is estimated that mental health issues account for 40% of this figure. Yet up to 90% feel unable to be honest about this being the reason for their absence.
Mental Health Awareness and Response is an educational course which teaches people how to identify, understand and help a person who may be developing a mental health issue. In the same way as we learn physical first aid, Mental Health Awareness teaches you how to recognise those crucial warning signs of mental ill health, developing the skills and confidence to recognise the signs and symptoms of common mental health issues and effectively guide a person towards the right support.
At the end of the course participants will be able to:
• Recognise and respond appropriately to signs of mental ill health
• Feel confident helping someone experiencing a problem
• Help stop a mental illness from getting worse
• Help someone recover faster
• Guide someone towards the right support
• Reduce the stigma of mental health problems
For specific information about the course content, please feel free to email Dil and Kate directly (they are delivering the training) on firstname.lastname@example.org
The Workshop will take place on Friday 9th February 2018 at the Church of the Resurrection (CORE) Community Centre, Churchway, Macclesfield, SK10 3EP. From 9.30 until 5pm. Lunch isn't provided but refreshments (tea and coffee) are. CoRE does have kitchen facilities with a microwave should people want to use it to heat up any of their own food. A local co-op is only a few minutes drive away.
We can offer 1 free place to local organisations (further places can be purchased at a cost of £75). The workshop normally retails at £150 to £300 per delegate.
There are a maximum of 12 places and we will allocate on a first come first served basis.
An additional session can be put on for organisations for £300 for up to 12 people with all proceeds going to the Church of the Resurrection
